Deja Jackson, born on February 17, 1994, in Chicago, Illinois, is the daughter of renowned rapper and actor, Ice Cube (O’Shea Jackson), and his wife, Kimberly Woodruff. She has garnered attention not only for her lineage but also for her pursuits in the arts and sports.

Jackson grew up in a family deeply rooted in the entertainment industry. She is the sister of O’Shea Jackson Jr., who portrayed their father in the film, Straight Outta Compton. She has three other siblings: Darrel, Karima and Shareef Jackson. Jackson’s father, O’Shea Jackson Sr., popularly known as Ice Cube, hails from the U.S. state of California. He first gained recognition as a member of the group C.I.A., which disbanded just three years after its formation. Following this, he joined forces with Arabian Prince, Dr. Dre and Eazy-E to establish N.W.A. (Niggaz Wit Attitudes) in 1986. The group expanded in 1987 with the addition of DJ Yella and MC Ren. N.W.A. was active from 1986 to 1991 and significantly transformed rap music.

Their explicit lyrics attracted both acclaim and criticism, with many American radio stations refusing to play their songs. Despite this, they amassed millions of listeners both in the U.S. and internationally, selling about 10 million albums in America alone. Ice Cube left N.W.A. in 1989 and embarked on a highly successful solo career.

His solo albums from the 1990s, including AmeriKKKa’s Most Wanted (1990), Death Certificate (1991), The Predator (1992), Lethal Injection (1993) and War & Peace Vol. 1 (The War Disc) (1998), all achieved Platinum status from the RIAA.  Ice Cube continues to produce music with his latest album, Everythang’s Corrupt, released in 2018.

Jackson portrayed “Kool Herc” in a 2018 episode of Drunk History and made a guest appearance on WWE Smackdown in 2019. He starred in the comedy series, The Now, released on The Roku Channel in 2021, and in the basketball drama, Swagger, playing “Ike Edwards”. In 2021, he appeared in the Disney+ Star Wars series, Obi-Wan Kenobi as Kawlan Roken.
